CHANNELERS

AI ORACLE POPERA (WORK IN PROGRESS)

Co-creator | Performer | Designer

Channelers is a mystical, Artificial Intelligence-driven performance modeled as a hybrid post-show Q&A session/oracular divination ritual and set to a synthpop soundtrack, with all spoken language  and lyrics generated by our bespoke-trained A.I. chatbot personae. Audience members converse in real-time with our A.I. chatbots, as channeled by our performers via in-ear receivers. A hyper-transactional Q&A gradually gives way to penetrating contemplation and critique about the nature of our bodily, emotional, and ecological autonomy.

An initial production residency and work-in-progress performance was staged at Hamilton College.  Future iterations are in the process of becoming...

PERELMAN THEATER, PHILADELPHIA

Projection Designer

The American premiere of a chamber adaptation of Berstein’s late-period masterpiece, A Quiet Place tells a story of a horrific accident that catalysizes an airing of long hidden and repressed family secrets.  Act III was staged under the blaring beam of a 30,000 lumen projector that served as the only source of light throughout.  Submerging the performers were home-movie-esque memories, surfacing in the morning light after a night of familial conflict.

CATCH!

PERFORMANCE SERIES / ANDREW DINWIDDIE & CALEB HAMMONS

CO-CURATOR

For nearly 15 years, and 80 events, CATCH! helped to define the NY downtown performance scene, bringing together artists and audiences encompassing a sprawling constellation of performance worlds.   Together with Andrew Dinwiddie and joined by Caleb Hammons, CATCH! grew from the back room of a Williamsburg bar, to take the stage at some of the premiere downtown institutions in NYC and at venues and festivals across the US.  Along the way, the misson expanded from providing a space for artists just making a splash, to bringing early-career and established artists into a shared creative context, and fostering an audience ready to engage with performance art of all stripes, all the while enjoying the scene with a beer in hand.
